The Sioux City Community School District is working to go green. Monday the district was issued a symbolic check for the $750,000 the district has saved. Nearly two years ago, the District partnered with Cenergistic to become more energy efficient. All Sioux City Community Schools are Energy Star certified. “It is really a great testament to our leadership in this district and to our staff that has worked so hard to save money and reduce energy waste. It has a real impact on the environment,” said Jeremy Taylor, Energy Specialist. Taylor says Sioux City Community Schools now rank in the top 25% of K-12 schools for energy savings.
